Large leaf made using polymer clay, painted with oil and acrylic with a light gloss glaze finish.
Autumn is one of my favourite seasons and I am always found collecting leaves in beautiful colours to paint at home. I first started to create my own a few years ago using air dried clay, which worked well but was quite fragile. The benefit of polymer clay is it’s durability. It’s lightweight, won’t shatter if it’s dropped and you can even bend it slightly, which makes it ideal for sending through the post.
Each one I make is hand painted, unique and signed on the back.
This leaf measures about 19cm x 17cm.
