OVER TROSTAN MOUNTAIN – Mixed Media on Paper

This was painted after a trip we had to Northern Ireland. We were driving home on a very wet afternoon, and I’d looked out of the window on a view that had all these beautiful earthy colours, made all the more richer by the rain.  I couldn’t stop to take any photos at the time, so I just had to remember it for when we returned back home and to the studio. This painting was the result.  I can’t say it’s exactly how it looked, but it captures the feeling and the colours, and it’s become one of my favourites.
