My Story
Hello there, I’m Teresa
or Trees as I’m mostly known, a mixed media artist living in Teddington, London.

Do What You Love..
Painting, drawing and creating has been a passion all my life and, although I chose not to pursue it as a career when I was younger, it is something I’ve always returned to and now explore full time from the studio at the bottom of our garden.
My work is inspired by my love of nature, colour and texture. My aim is to capture the memory of a happy, beautiful moment, which may take the form of an abstract landscape or a detailed representational drawing depending upon what I’m feeling or what has caught my eye.
When creating abstract or loose representational landscapes, I work in acrylic and oil, building up layers using collage, paint and glazes to develop extra interest and texture. I try to express not just the view, but the feeling of being there in that moment in time enjoying the sounds, scents, may be a chill breeze or the heat of a summer’s day.
Even though I love the freedom of loose or abstract painting, sometimes it’s the pattern of some bark, lichen, an autumn leaf or the colour and light through a bottle that I find hard to ignore, so for a detailed representation I work in pen, watercolour and charcoal.
The most important thing to me is to be as authentic as I can. To find the joy in the moment and to create something that I love and that others can connect with and love too for their very own reasons.
