One from our walk yesterday evening. The light was spectacular as the grass took on a luminous pink glow. Totally gorgeous, but we were plunged into darkness quite soon after, so it ended with the first park in the dark walk of the season!

Saturday wanders in Big London Town, starting alon

Saturday wanders in Big London Town, starting along the Southbank round to Borough Market and continuing over London Bridge, past The Monument, St Paul's and into Covent Garden before heading back over the river to head for home.
Stopped whenever we fancied it for a coffee to watch the world go by, a bit of lunch and a beer in a little old pub.

Favourite overheard conversation from two guys walking into The George courtyard:
'Shakespeare and Dickens used to come here'
'What together?'

I'd have definitely said yes! It did make me giggle.

Sketchbook entry for today ... this is made from small blobs of unused acrylic paint that has dried on the baking paper I use on my palette.

It's particularly satisfying to peel them off (if you like that kind of thing, like PVA glue on your fingers!) and after collecting quite a lot, decided to stick them down and create a palette as the piece of art.

Started work on a couple of other pieces this week now that my decorating project is all finished. Nice to get back to some proper painting 😉

So nice to finally have a warm sunny day. Made the most of it with a lovely walk with Woo's, actually taking the time to notice all those little things .. so on today's list: a beautiful Kestrel which came and landed right beside me; white Gulls flying against the bright blue sky; three Butterflies perched on a lonely yellow flower amongst the sandy coloured grass and watching the sunlight filtering through the trees.

In other news, we had a little Robin fly into our house this morning. Two weeks ago, we had a pigeon who wandered in, I don't know what's going on. Anyway, me and the Robin had a little chat about the whole situation and I managed to catch him before he hurt himself or anything else. He was so soft and happily flew off into his favourite tree when I set him free so all good.

Sketchbook entry from a couple of weeks ago which I've only just got round to sticking in as I've swapped brushes to decorate the hall and stairs and it's keeping me busy. Swipe left to see a photo taken before we put all our clutter back in, although now it's newly decorated, even our clutter looks good.

Also it's 8 years since we picked up Indie - she has celebrated by sleeping all day!

Had a nice little trip to The Tate last week to visit the Hilma af Klint and Piet Mondrian exhibition.

I'm always interested to see an artists journey throughout their lifetime, which comes from being a little bit nosey really.

Both artists started out as landscape painters with a love for nature and spirituality which continued throughout their lives as they developed into their well known abstract work.

I really loved the floral and botanical work they created. It's worth a visit if you get the chance.
